Puebla

Puebla is the larger city that is only about 15 minutes away from Cholula and the university. The influence from America is much more evident in Puebla- with Walmart, Sears, TGIFridays, Krispy Kream, and many other american stores and restaurants. Puebla is also one of the oldest cities in North America and shows much colonial influence. On Friday we took a tour of the historic center of Puebla...this is one of the streets.

Another street in Puebla.

The Zocalo in Puebla- around the Zocalo are outdoor restaurants (including an Italian Coffee Company...mmm), stores, and beautiful old buildings. In the center is a park.

Another picture of the park.

Poinsetias growing in the park- this plant is native to Mexico.

A picture with the group from Georgia Tech in front of the fountain in the main Zocalo in Puebla.

This is the Mexican Revolution Museum. Outside the museum you can see holes in the building that remain from the battle in the early 1900's.

A market in Puebla that sells many souvenirs for the tourists.

The talavera pottery that is well-known from this region of Mexico.

My Australian friends, Alexis and Jordie.
